#GivingTuesday - This Can Be Gang Prevention

The Mentoring Project is proud and grateful to serve the Oklahoma City Police Department Gang Prevention Unit to recruit, train and match mentors with high risk youth.  Every day, we see heroic police officers serve their community, offering hope and second chances to high-risk youth.  When they identify a young man or woman who needs a mentor and a life change, we make it happen.

This #GivingTuesday, please donate to The Mentoring Project to help us recruit a mentor before a child is pressured into joining a gang.  Your giving allows The Mentoring Project to substitute a mentor for loneliness; to allow a mentor to be a voice of positive in a sea of negative; for a young person to hear of their value, talent and capacity to rise from the storm.  THIS is the work of the future.

Giving Tuesday has been an exciting day and we still have many hours left before the bell rings.  We give high fives all around when a donation buzzes in ... you guys are sending love from California to West Virginia!

The MOST FUN SURPRISE has been one of our OKC mentors being featured on the NASDAQ screen in Times Square!  Jake's picture and tweet celebrating mentoring was splashed all over NYC bigger than life - check it out below!  Will you help us in reaching out to your friends to suggest The Mentoring Project as their #GivingTuesday charity?  Let's make this the year that everything changes.

Long live mentoring,
The Mentoring Project team
